Cori Richards Design Studio was born from a life spent paying attention — to light, to texture, to the way a well-made space can change how you feel in it.
Born in Laguna Beach, Cori was shaped by the natural world from the beginning. A finance degree, years as a ski instructor, swim coach, and yoga teacher, and a decade living between New Zealand and London gave her something design school alone never could — a deep understanding of how people actually live.
Formally trained at The Interior Design School in London, Cori Richards brings an internationally educated eye to her Utah-based practice. After returning home to found Cori Richards Design, six years of professional experience — and a lifetime of curiosity before that — shape the way she approaches every project.
Her father was a builder who spent Sunday mornings poring over Architectural Digest. That early education in craft, detail, and quality construction never left her.
Cori lives in Utah with her husband Carl and their four children.

Moving abroad unquestionably shaped Cori’s views of material possession and the intrinsic value of a comfortable, beautiful environment. Beyond ‘things,’ she values the people around her and seeks to cultivate moments for deep connection in both her personal life and in her work.
She creates intentionally-designed spaces that allow one to nurture close relationships, invite others in to enjoy, to build community, and to be one’s own personal retreat of rest.
